Something I've been meaning to say to our caregivers

To the caregivers in our community,
I want to be honest with you about something.
For a long time now, my focus at Boxing 4 Health has been almost entirely on our members living with Parkinson's on their movement, their strength, their quality of life. And that work matters deeply to me. But recently, something shifted.
My mom and I have started co-hosting a caregiver support group together. And sitting in that room — listening to spouses, children, and siblings share what their days actually look like I realized how much I had been missing. These are people who show up tirelessly for someone they love, often quietly carrying worry, exhaustion, and questions they don't always know who to ask.

They asked about nutrition how to help a husband who's losing weight and losing energy. They asked about falls, and whether their home was safe, and whether they should be doing something now before something happens. They brought up swallowing, and what it means when mealtimes start to feel harder. Real, practical, urgent things.
And I thought: I can help with this. We can help with this.
So I'm starting a caregiver blog. Not a clinical resource a real one. Written for the people sitting across the table from someone they love, trying to figure out how to help. Each post will cover something that came directly from our community, because you are the ones who know what actually needs to be said.
If you're a caregiver whether you're a spouse, a sibling, a son or daughter this blog is for you. And so is our support group.
We currently run two groups: one in the morning and one in the evening on Zoom. Both have just launched and we still have a few spots available in the evening session. If you've been looking for a space where you can speak honestly with people who truly get it, I'd love for you to join us. Just reply to this email and I'll get you the details.
Thank you for everything you do. I see you and I'm glad you're here.
With warmth,
Christine Seaby
